• Develop knowledge of polymer chemistry and polymer engineering practices under a mechanical engineering lens.

• Develop skills in education and course development for instructing in industry and academic environments. 

• The course is broken into 15 weeks.*

• The course covers three major sections:

  • General Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry 

  • Polymer Material Science

  • Polymer Mechanics

• Course Materials

  • 23 lecture presentations

    • Equates to two 1-1.5 hour lectures per a week (not including weeks for exams, project presentations, or experimental demonstrations)

  • 8 homework assignments

  • 2 exams 

    • 1 mid-term exam, 1 final exam

  • Miscellaneous handouts and 40 references

  • One end-of-class project

    • There are three options students can choose from
